Our world is surrounded by letters, from the signs on the street to notes scribbled on paper. Each letter has its character and stories to tell. To understand lettering, to learn a new way to write with joy, is an opportunity to improve your handwriting and to create wholehearted messages anytime you need. Have you ever looked at your handwriting and wondered about the stories behind it? The act of handwriting – seems perhaps simple, but what insight do we need to be mindful of with every letter?
Inspired by traditional calligraphy and modern hand-lettering, watercolor lettering lets you slow down and gracefully embrace each brushstroke and its components, to discover the inner voice of your handwriting.
‘A Brush Watercolor Lettering’ workshop will have instructions on the methods and how-to practice brush lettering for beginners, the rules of every basic brushstroke and the formation of complete characters. You will have time and space to observe and enjoy the pace of practicing, feeling the transformation in each brushstroke.
Attending the workshop, you will be:
- Given knowledge about the anatomy of letters, analyzed by compositions and stroke types.
- Experience 2 art skills: watercolor and brush lettering
- Practice self-observation and self-reflection while writing
Afterwards, attendees will bring home a practice kit to continue having fun with brush-lettering
