The Factory invites you to a conversation between visual artist Võ Trân Châu and history/ culture researcher Trần Quang Đức, in relation to the exhibition ‘Leaf Picking in the Ancient Forest‘. In this talk, Võ Trân Châu will share an overview of her artistic practice, particularly her interests, approach and process of creating the body of work for this exhibition. Throughout her creative journey, Võ Trân Châu encountered several researchers including Trần Quang Đức – independent researcher of Sino-Nom and Eastern culture. Such cross-disciplinary research provided Châu with particular historical insights, revealing ways of re-looking at the past. Trần Quang Đức will respond to Võ Trân Châu‘s works by situating her art in a wider movement of revisiting heritage in contemporary Vietnamese society today.
