To celebrate a new decade, for the Spring edition of Galeria, we journey back to the past to bring you some of the most beloved artists we have previously worked with: Hà Ninh Pham, Nghĩa Đặng, Ngọc Nâu, Oanh Phi Phi, Tammy Nguyễn, Thảo Nguyên Phan and Trần Minh Đức. Coming from different generations and backgrounds, each of these artists represents a segment of the artistic dynamism Vietnam has to offer, recognized for their diverse and transgressive exploration of materials and subject matters. Notably featuring small-scale lacquer works by Oanh Phi Phi; part of Thảo Nguyên Phan’s award-winning ‘Siesta Children’; Hà Ninh‘s on-going ‘world building’ project ‘My Land’; and Tammy Nguyễn‘s re-telling of ancient tales ‘The Gazing Pool of Who and I’ (amongst others), the juxtaposition of the artworks on display lead us to encounters existing between the real and imagined, the everyday and fantastical, the futuristic and historical.
