In this Galeria we showcase the practice of two prominent Vietnamese artists currently participating in the Sharjah Biennial 14 in the United Arab Emirates (on view from 7 March – 10 June, 2019). One of the most prestigious exhibition platforms in the world, initiated and organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation – considered one of the most dynamic arts foundations dedicated to contemporary art internationally. This 14th edition is curated by Claire Tancons, Omar Kholeif and Zoe Butt (who is also the Artistic Director of The Factory).
Recognized for their exploration of historical and cultural narratives that offer differing perspective to popular belief, Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn and Phan Thảo Nguyên’s art has been exhibited and collected by prominent private and public collections, globally.
The art here was previously included in the artists’ respective solo show: ‘Empty Forest‘ by Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn (showcased at The Factory 9 Dec 2017 – 7 Feb 2018) and ‘Poetic Amnesia’ by Phan Thảo Nguyên (showcased at The Factory 15 Apr – 2 June 2017).
