Sébastian Ly

Sebastien Ly studied at the National Center of Contemporary Dance, Angers in France and then became part of the National Choreographic Center of Nantes. Driven by the intimate link between the artist and the audience, he founded in 2005 Kerman dance company whose main focus was to develop site specific performances. The work was quickly recognized and was invited to perform at renowned museums in combination with visual arts.

He was early exposed to art and music under the guidance of his mother and grandmother, aunt of Trinh Cong Son. Since then the concept of art and the love for it was gradually nurtured and defined in his subconscious. The question of how can human interaction be the most genuine constantly frequented the mind of young Sebastien. How do we share, create and co-create? Are words the only bridge connecting two individuals?

Through Krossing Over Arts Festival, Sebastien hopes the audience and artists have interesting and varied experiences. All boundaries and distances operate in the transitional space between « closing” and « opening » , « relative » and « absolute », « the observer» and « the observed», « the shown» and « the hidden». Instead, each person finds its own voices, a space in their life or even a temporary home for their emotions.
