Lecture and discussion with Professor Stephen Baker about ‘How gut bugs spread and evolve’ (English with Vietnamese subtitles)
We live in a microbial world, where bacteria are the dominant form of life on the planet. Humans and bacteria have evolved together and these organisms shape so many components of our life and our existence. Stephen Baker, a professor of molecular microbiology at the University of Oxford, has spent almost 20 years trying to understand how bacteria cause disease and how they evolve in response to human intervention. By understanding how these bacteria are moving and evolving we can begin to develop better drugs, vaccines and public health measures to prevent the diseases they cause.
