GENDER BEHAVIOR
Gender Behavior is a project that combine sociological research and modern art with the aim to raise people’s awareness on gender issues.
The main event contains the following program:
- Hortense Plé’s photo project – “Who you are?”
“Whatever gender a person is assigned to at birth or whatever gender they consider themselves are, they are all equal. There are more to this world than just black and white or yin and yang…”
- Photo project “What we talk about when we talk about love?”
How do we love? What do we do when we are in love? What do we think about it? And the most important question of them all: What are the differences of love for different people with different genders? Our photo project is created to answer one simple question: “What we talk about when we talk about love?” Each character with different back-ground, different position will give us different definition of “love”. This photo project of Bui Hoang Tu is made with the ambition to break down people’ stereotypes on “love”. And to prove that “love” is beyond the affections between man and woman. It represents people’s passion on whatever they do.
- Contemporary dance choreographed by Emily Navarra from The Movement Kitchen: “I AM HUMAN”
How was I born and raised?” “Who am I?” To recreate the story of the human-like-creatures from their birth, when the prejudices of our society haven’t have much effect on them, The Movement Kitchen have been working consistently with 10 unprofessional volunteers to use their own inner self as the performance’s material.
- Documentary video made in stop-motion style about gender norms.
- Entrance fee: 100.000 VNĐ/ adult, 50.000 VNĐ/ student
