Suzanne Lecht

Hanoi

Suzanne Lecht is Founder and Art Director of Art Vietnam Gallery, established in 2002 in Hanoi. From the wild west of Montana to the eastern shores of New York and Japan, Suzanne has always been involved in the arts. In 1992 Suzanne found herself captivated by images of the works of Hanoi’s ‘Gang of Five’, early pioneers of contemporary art in Vietnam. Thus compelled to move to Hanoi in 1994, her first exhibition ‘The Changing Face of Hanoi’, took place in 1997 in Hong Kong, which began her journey with a range of local and international artists showcasing their art with her commercial gallery. In January 2017, Suzanne decided to close Art Vietnam relocating her business to her salon gallery/house that she built in Hanoi with the help of her artist friends in 1994. An intimate and creative reflection of the culture of Vietnam, the salon is open by appointment only and offers exhibitions, private parties, art consultations, poetry readings, music events as well as other cultural activities. VIP collector evenings and educational events are held to disseminate the culture of Vietnam. Suzanne continues to curate shows in Vietnam and other cities worldwide, promoting Vietnamese art to the international art world.
