We must be familiar with the spiciness of perilla, the fresh taste of mint or the unique flavor of coriander as they are some of the most common ingredients in Vietnamese culinary recipes. But have you ever spent time observing their special features such as colors and shapes? If asked, will you be able to describe them correctly?
Join us in ‘Herbs paintings on silk’ workshop, instructed by Trâm and Hà, and learn how to observe and sketch the herbs’ little details. You’ll also have the chance to explore the world of silk painting.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
This workshop is guided by Tôn Nữ Thị Bích Trâm and Vũ Thị Hà, 2 young and enthusiastic painters.
Pursuing Silk Painting from the HCMC University of Fine Arts, Trâm is inspired by nature and the life she experiences around her. Trâm has participated in the competition ‘Paint with Poems’ (initiated by Kim Dong Publication), and is the lead illustrator for the comic book project ‘Truyen co Cham’ (Folktales of Champa) (Kim Dong Publication), as well as the teaser poster of the movie ‘Thua me, con di’.
After graduating from HCMC University of Fine Arts, Hà has been wondering and questioning her own practice. From the student phrase to post-graduation, Hà’s works have always focused on human portraits. To her, portraying is the process of exploring, acknowledging and understanding her own self as well as her surroundings. This is also the beginning source of her works, which deepens and establishes her emotions towards human nature.
