Tuyền Nguyễn (b.1990) is a visual artist based in Ho Chi Minh City. Tuyền discovered his passion for art while he was studying business and left his degree to enroll in the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Art. He graduated in 2018 with a major in lacquer but has worked primarily with oil painting. His works are concerned with the feeling of solitude, loneliness and disorientation in a fast-paced urban society; which are visually manifested in geometric shapes, distorted figures and repetitive patterns. He participated in A Farm residency in 2019 and was featured in various group exhibitions in Vietnam and Singapore. In 2020 he had his first solo show titled ‘Manimal’ at Craig Thomas Gallery (HCMC).
