Thanh Uy comes from Quang Ninh. He graduated from Hanoi University of Pharmacy in 1991 and Foreign Trade University in 1996. He is the owner of the Thanh Uy collection, which is considered to be the biggest collection of paintings in Vietnam. Thanh Uy started his collection in 2008 and now the total number of his paintings has reached 1,200 works including graphic works, paintings and sculptures by 60 Vietnamese artists and sculptors. Each of his works bears the typical value of each artist representing the different stages of Vietnamese art history. He is currently living and working in Hanoi.
