Phan Quang

He got his BA in Economics at the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 1999. Before beginning to exhibit his artworks, he worked for over a decade as a photojournalist for some of Asia’s best-known media, including Forbes, New York Time and Viet Nam Economic Times. Phan Quang’s artistic practice is based on the contemporary photography concept and the political and cultural experiments of himself to turn it into his artworks. Besides photography, his practice today also encompasses sculpture, installation and video, all considered as communication tools that pique multi-dimensional thoughts and associations. Phan Quang’s selected exhibitions include solo exhibitions RE/COVER at BLANC Art Space, Vietnam (2016); Space/Limit at Sàn Art, Vietnam (2013); together with group exhibitions at Daker Biennale, Senegal (2016); And That Which Was Always Known at Yavuz Gallery, Singapore (2015). He is also the co-founder of the visual experiment publication XEM. Currently, he is a photographing lecturer at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City.
